On 1 April 2025, the ADGM issued the ADGM Employment Regulations 2024, substantially updating the previous employment law regime in the ADGM, reflecting global changes in workplace practices, and providing greater clarity on employer and employee rights and obligations in the ADGM. From introducing the concept of remote employees, clarifying ambiguities related to employee entitlements, and expanding obligations and responsibilities related to discrimination and victimisation in the workplace, ADGM employers must align their employment policies, contracts and procedures with the revised employment law framework to ensure legal compliance.
