Nadim Najjar

Managing Director

Nadim Najjar was appointed Managing Director of Thomson Reuters in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) in December 2013. He oversees the Thomson Reuters businesses including Financial & Risk, Tax & Accounting, and Legal across MENA markets.

Nadim started his career as the IBM regional partner in Lebanon responsible for designing platforms and providing state-of-the-art technical solutions to buy-side clients in the Middle East. He joined Thomson Reuters as Chief Engineer in 1993 and introduced the first of its kind two-way satellite communication system in Istanbul, Athens, and Beirut. Under his leadership, the business significantly increased, allowing the Reuters dealing system to grow by servicing Blue Chip corporations within the financial community in the Middle East.

Nadim has been on the cutting edge of the information industry for more than three decades. With a programming and computer engineering background, he was responsible for the technology development of new products and setting the architectural direction for Thomson Reuters platforms in the Levant region during the 90s.

In 1997, Nadim assumed a new role as Technical & Project Business Manager and launched the first mobile information product in the Levant markets. He was promoted to Business Manager of Thomson Reuters in 1999, leading the firm’s business operations including sales, client training & technical support across the Levant & North African markets.

Nadim served as Managing Director, East Mediterranean & North Africa, Thomson Reuters in 2006. In 2010, he was appointed as Global Head of Business Planning & Operations at Thomson Reuters Rapidly Developing Economies, driving strategic growth initiatives in emerging economies such as China, Russia, India, Latin America, Middle East & Africa.

In 2012, Nadim assumed a new executive role as Managing Director, Middle East, Africa, Russia/CIS, Intellectual Property & Science (IP&S). He played a pivotal role in developing the business and building operations to provide comprehensive solutions for corporations, academia, publishers, governments and law firms. Nadim remained in this role until taking on his current role of Managing Director of Thomson Reuters MENA.
